BONTOUシリーズ（Chochin / Lantern）は、京都の若林佛具製作所から発表した現代版の盆提灯です。変化するライフスタイルと日本文化を俯瞰し、「お盆」という時の流れに向き合う中で、モダンと郷愁を融合させることを意識した意匠に辿り着きました。柔らかくも凛とした、暮らしに溶け込む現代の灯火になればという思いを込めました。

A series of new Bon lantern by Wakabayashi Butsugu Mfg in Kyoto, Japan. “BONTOU Chochin (on floor)”and “BONTOU Lantern (on desk)”. In researching changing lifestyles and Japanese culture, and in rethinking “Obon (is a Buddhist festival in Japan to honor the spirit of our ancestors.),” we arrived at a design that is the fusion of modernity and nostalgia. We hope that these soft yet dignified modern lamps will be a part of your daily life.
